We’ve got some great artists lined up for our Thursday Night Jazz Series this month. Starting us off is award winning local saxophone virtuoso Paul Navidad and his quartet. Taking the jazz world by storm from an early age, Paul has built an impressive musical resume along the way playing with some of the best of the best, and is one of the most in demand artists today. We’re honored to have him.
On the 10th we have cutting edge guitarist Mike Baggetta, celebrating the release of SPECTRE on Fresh Sound New Talent, his fourth for that label. Performing music in between the worlds of dreams and waking life, hallucination and memory, truth and suspicion…. Mike’s singular and very personal musical style seeks to blur the lines between composition and improvisation, while connecting a wide range of musical genres that influence him. He has earned accolades from the press that call this approach “…beguilingly atmospheric…” (Time Out New York) and that “Baggetta’s music [is] quietly transgressive… Even when he plays a lot of notes, his playing can sound almost static, as though ideas were being snagged out of thin air.” (The Hartford Courant). You’ve never heard anything like this before, you don’t want to miss it.
On the 17th we’ll get to he heart of the matter with some straight ahead traditional jazz from the Corey Gemme Group. Corey is a man of many talents, playing the Trumpet, Clarinet, and Trombone. Backed by his rock solid band Corey is set to rock your world.
November 24 is the Thanksgiving Holiday, making it a short month for our Thursday Night Jazz series, but we’ll be back in December with more great music.
